ROBERT GOWDY
Robert E. Lee Gowdy, 81 of the Michell Community, Ripley, died Friday, September
6, 1979 in the North Miss. Medical Center, Tupelo.
He was a Baptist and a retired farmer.
Services were held Saturday, September 8, at 4 p.m. in the Ripley Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Criswell Cemetery. Bro. Faban Clark officiated, assisted by Bro. Dennis Smithey.
Mr. Gowdy is survived by his wife, Mrs. Tina Smkith Gowdy, Ripley; one son, Paul Gowdy, Ripey; two daughters, Mrs. Johnny C. Lindsey, Hernando, and Mrs. Gene Johnson, Falkner; one sister, Mrs. Mary Barbee, Hernando; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Givens, Ellis Givens, Melvin Givens, Floyd Givens, Junior Jeter, and Charles Jeter.
