RAYBURN GOWDY - February 5, 1987, Southern Sentinel
Rayburn C. Goudy, 84 of New Albany died at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, in the Union County General Hospital, New Albany.

He was a native of Blue Mountain, a retired employee of Blue Mountain College where he had worked for 27 years and a member of Moss Hill Baptist Church.

Services were held Tuesday, Jan 27, 2 p.m. in McBride Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Blue Mountain Cemetery.  Bro. Greg Moffitt officiated and was assisted by Dr. James Travis.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Birdie May Goudy of New Albany; Two daughters, Mrs. Betty Grace Goudy of Memphis and Mrs. Mable Grant of Collierville; two brothers, R. B. Goudy, Jr., of Blue Mountain and Earnest Goudy of West Point; one sister, Mrs. Bertie Bennet of Blue Mountain; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Henry, Ronnie Turner, Jonathan Douglas Grant, Rev. Neil Gant, Johnny Medlin and Phillip Medlin.
