MRS. JANE GOUDY - December 26, 1946, Southern Sentinel
Mrs. Mandy Jane (Aunt Jane) Box Goudy, who during the 90 years of her lifetime, became known for her sweet disposition and many charitable acts, died at 9:30 a.m. yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sallie Yancey, 216 Cossitt, where she lived the past 14 months.  She was in excellent health until a month ago.

Mrs. Goudy spent most of her life in Ripley, Miss, where she was born.  She was the widow of R. L. Goudy, Ripley family.   She was a Methodist.

She leaves her daughter; her brother, John Box, and her sister, Mrs. Callie Bartlett, both of Ripley;  two grandchildren, Mrs. W. B. Veal, Memphis, and Helon Book, Goshen, Ind.; and her great-grandson, Lloyd Schlabach, Goshen.

J. W. Norris Funeral Home sent the body to Ripley for services and burial today. - Press-Scimitar (Memphis)

The above article which appeared in the Press-Scimitar Dec. 25 will be of interest to many of our readers. Mrs. goudy was buried at Box Chapel on Wednesday at 2:30.  Rev. O. J. Richardson had charge of the service.  She had lived in this county until a few years ago.
